Private Yoga offered at Salus Physiotherapy
Kinesitherapy offers both one-on-one and therapeutic yoga sessions in a private studio setting.
Our Kinesi-therapy Yoga Instructors all hold certification in yoga instruction, and are also registered kinesiologists. This unique combination of qualifications ensures that your sessions are structured around your unique body movement patterns by professionals who specialize in human movement science. This ensures your yoga practise won't cause any further harm to your body.
If you find yourself hopelessly lost during a general yoga class and unsure of your technique, a private session with a Kinesi-therapy Yoga Instructor will provide you with proper, individualized instruction and attention in order to reap the most benefits from your yoga practise.
As human movement specialists, our instructors always take into consideration your health history, and implement a routine with poses that are appropriate for your unique goals, while avoiding any contraindicated poses that may lead to further injury.
Drawing from a variety of yoga styles to suit your individual goals and interests, our instructors will become a motivational and valuable resource to your practise.
Private one-on-one therapeutic yoga sessions
If you are recovering from a recent injury, experiencing a decrease in function as a result of a chronic illness, or have a history of malalignment and postural imbalances, therapeutic yoga can allow you to achieve physical and mental well-being by bringing your whole body into symmetry and balance.
Therapeutic Yoga combines postural, breathing and relaxation techniques to alleviate localized symptoms as well as address any peripheral imbalances that may hinder your recovery and function.
Following a comprehensive assessment, your Kinesi-therapy Yoga Therapist will implement a customized program utilizing yoga breathing and postures aimed to address your limitations and alleviate your symptoms.
Education is a big component of each session. Postures will be taught in a systematic fashion that emphasizes proper technique and injury prevention.

Kinesi-therapy offers group yoga classes (maximum 15 participants per class) where emphasis is on developing effective breath, body, mind and spirit approaches to yoga through prescriptive and effective postures.
Prior to your first class, a health screen and movement assessment will be conducted by a registered kinesiologist in order to acknowledge any limitations and poses that may contraindicated to your health and well-being. This ensures that you are instructed in a safe and effective manner.
Each class incorporates the following components:
- An initial 5 minute education session, focusing on tips and advice for injury prevention.
- A 1 hour class emphasizing demonstration, verbal instruction and manual guidance to lead you through a safe yoga practise.
- 10 — minute savasana.
